Introduction

Hi! Welcome to my meek blog about education.  I currently attend Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI and am Teacher Assisting in a nearby district in 4th grade. We have yet to hear from the College of Education with our placements for Fall, when I'll be student teaching and have more authority and lots more responsibility for the curriculum and daily management of the class.  
This blog is an assignment for my ED 370 (Technology in Education) class, but I think I will keep it going as a tracking of my progress as an up-and-coming teacher! My goals for teaching are simple, I want a job. Anywhere. I'm not going to be picky. I want to apply all over the country and hopefully get some bites in warm/temperate climates, but I would take a job in MI if offered.  I don't have a preference for grade, although I have a lot of experience with little guys under 6. I think I could handle middle school and would love experiences with the developing minds of preteens, I just need to get a minor in 'Dealing with Irrational Hormonal Beings' first. 
I think a lot of my posts will be ideas I have found and would like to try out in future classrooms, or with my COE (College of Ed) placements. I also will post problems and solutions, questions/ wonders, struggles, and last but not least, funny stories from my kiddos. I might throw in a few recipes that I've tried out or cute pictures of my nephew because I like to cook and he is freaking adorable.
